Agro App

Agro App is designed to make it easier for drone pilots to see all their activity schedules. This application also makes it easier for teams to access data, create reports quickly, and allows multiple reports to be created at once. Agro App also makes it easier to monitor work results, thus supporting the optimization of team performance to be more organized in achieving maximum results.

🧩 Project Overview

Agro App is an internal application developed for the drone pilot team responsible for spraying pesticides on agricultural land. Initially, the features were embedded within the main system of Maxxi Group, but as the team's role became increasingly strategic and complex, the app was separated and redesigned as a dedicated solution.

As the Product Designer, I was fully responsible for redefining the user experience from scratch—starting from research, ideation, and validation, to handover to the development team.

🚨 Problem Statement

Despite its critical function, the workflow of the drone pilot team was not yet supported by an optimal system. Key issues identified:

  • Spraying reports were often delayed or not submitted on schedule

  • The previous system didn’t accommodate the specific needs of field operations

  • The app was too general, being part of a larger platform, which made it hard for users to focus or navigate efficiently

🎯 Goals

  • Redesign Agro App into a dedicated platform for the drone pilot team

  • Provide a user-friendly system that supports timely reporting and operational targets

  • Increase operational efficiency for the drone team, one of the company’s most strategic and high-performing services

👤 Target Users

The primary users are drone pilots responsible for spraying pesticides on agricultural fields using industrial drones.
They work in mobile conditions, requiring an interface that is fast, clear, and easy to operate in any environment.

🔍 Research

To understand field conditions and user needs, I conducted:

  • In-depth interviews with drone pilots

  • On-site shadowing, following their real workflows directly on the field

Key insights gathered:
✅ Many pain points came from manual processes that hadn't yet been digitized
✅ Users required a system that was fast, lightweight, and capable of offline data entry
✅ A clean, focused, and task-driven UI was strongly preferred

All research findings were documented into a visual report and presented to stakeholders to guide design decisions.

💡 Ideation & Feature Prioritization

  • I proposed several new features based on research findings and the actual challenges faced by drone pilots.

  • Through stakeholder workshops and brainstorming, we prioritized these features and defined the MVP scope.

🧭 UX Design Process

The design process included:

  • Mapping the user flow based on real-life job processes

  • Creating wireframes for each key scenario

  • Building a flexible and scalable design system

  • Producing high-fidelity UIs and interactive prototypes for testing

✅ Usability Testing

I conducted usability testing sessions with active drone pilots to:

  • Ensure alignment between design and actual field conditions

  • Assess whether the design simplified workflows

  • Validate ease of navigation and data entry processes

The feedback was used to iterate and refine the UI for better usability.

📦 Handoff & Implementation

I handed over the final design along with complete documentation and visual assets to the development team.
Throughout the development phase, I collaborated closely with both developers and QA teams to ensure the product stayed true to the original design intent.

📊 Outcome & Impact

After release, my responsibilities extended beyond handover. I:

  • Actively gathered feedback from users on-site

  • Worked with the data team to track performance metrics, especially reduction in report delays

  • Continued discussions with stakeholders to measure whether the solution was meeting its intended goals

As a result, Agro App successfully reduced reporting delays, improved report accuracy, and significantly enhanced the productivity of the drone team.
